Here's what I love: the words to the Christmas song O Holy Night...
Oh holy night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world (400 years!) in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices....
The soul felt its worth. Our souls are loved by the living God. We are worth so much to Him, that he sent His son to the lowest of positions in order to lift us out of our pit. He sent His son to die so that we wouldn't have to. Talk about the thrill of hope! But, does our weary world rejoice anymore? Do I fall on my knees?? Do I listen to the angel voices telling me that Jesus' birth was the beginning of all the freedom and joy I am able to experience today!? Right now, I am going to close my eyes and try to envision the angels appearing to the shepherds. I am going to try to hear their voices and pray that my eyes are opened anew to this amazing message of hope, joy, and peace that I am able to live out every day because of Jesus' appearance that first Christmas night.
Here's what I hate: There's not time to delve into the clever thing I hate today because I have to get my daughter to school on time. Maybe there will be time for more writing later...Maybe.
