Moving Moments

Here's what I love/hate: Moving Moments~~

·      Drinking my wine from a mason jar (at least it’s not a Solo cup says Julie)

·      Last night around midnight walking around for 15 minutes with a hairbrush and a roll of paper towel in my hand wondering where to put them.

·      The fact that if I find something that could have/should have gone in a box that’s already sealed, it feels like the box is as secure as fort knox—don’t mess with the taped up box…it’s impenetrable!

·      One of our movers just picked up our couch by himself, hoisted it onto his shoulder and waltzed out the door like it was a backpack. #hemightbesuperman

·      Seeing Lexi’s dear friend Treasure run up to hug her goodbye with the moving trucks in the background.  #mademecry

·      Realizing (and regretting) that I only used my giant whirlpool tub about 10 times in the 1000+ days we lived here.

·      Sitting on the kitchen floor to type this list.

·      Choking back tears as I thank God for the happy, easy days we spent in this resort-type neighborhood.

·      The feeling of relief I have knowing that we have a group of guys from our church coming to help Bill re-assemble the trampoline for the girls.

·      My sweet friends who helped entertain, chauffer, and care for the girls during this hectic time of packing and moving—including: Debbie, Jason, Jill, Tasha, Danielle, and Elizabeth.  I love you all!

·  The fact that some thoughtful friends are having us over for dinner tomorrow night since we probably won’t be fully unpacked yet. (Thanks Devon and Tom!)

Wondering what our first night (tonight!) in the “Urban Bungalow” will be like…Hoping the girls will be okay with the change.  (Feeling scared of rats.)

*  Feeling a little bitter that we are leaving when the crepe myrtles and hydrangeas in the yard are in full bloom.

There you have it—my stream-of-consciousness list as I process the beginning of our crazy move.  I’m so thankful for God’s provision and for the neighbors who have become closest friends and friends who have become family in my hour of need.

P.S. I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night, which is my excuse for using hashtags in a blog post. #theydonotlinktoanything

Another P.S. Just realized that I have lots of caring people praying for us during this move.  We are feeling strengthened and uplifted!  Thanks for praying!

Here we go!
